Best virtual phone systems with call analytics for small business (2026)

By the editors of Analytics1.comLast reviewed 19 October 2026

The short answer

For a small team that wants business numbers, apps and basic call reporting, Quo, KrispCall, Calilio and CallHippo are the budget-friendly cloud options; 800.com specialises in toll-free and vanity numbers. Aircall and Dialpad suit sales and support teams that want CRM integrations and AI call analysis; RingCentral suits companies that also want video and a full unified communications suite. None of these replaces call tracking for marketing attribution.

Analytics1 Score result

#1 virtual phone systems with call analytics for small business, by the Analytics1 Score: Quo (formerly OpenPhone) (80.5/100)

  1. #2 CallHippo 78.9
  2. #3 Aircall 78.5

Scored from vendors’ own published pages with fixed weights; partner and sponsor status are not inputs. How the score works.

How to choose

  • Numbers: local, mobile, toll-free or vanity, in the countries you need, and porting your existing number.
  • Call analytics: call volume, missed calls, wait times, recordings, transcripts and AI summaries.
  • CRM integration: calls logged automatically against the contact.
  • Routing: business hours, queues, IVR menus and ring groups.
  • Attribution: if you need to know which ad made the phone ring, you also need call tracking.

The ranking

Ranked by the Analytics1 Score, from evidence read on each vendor’s own site on 19 October 2026. Affiliate partners and sponsors are scored by the same rules as everyone else: being a partner or buying a placement has no effect on a score or a position. We have not tested these products in a live account.

Best for: startups and small teams wanting an affordable cloud phone

Cloud telephony with virtual numbers, shared numbers, call recording and call analytics for small teams.

Why this tool is not yet scored

Phone system, call tracking, or both?

A phone system records what happens on the call. Call tracking records what happened before it: the ad, keyword or page that made someone dial. Most local businesses that advertise need both, and most call tracking platforms forward to whatever phone system you use. Read call tracking explained.

Recording calls needs notice, and every party's consent in all-party consent states such as California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Washington. Not legal advice.

Questions

Can a virtual phone system track which ad a call came from?
Usually not by itself. You can assign a separate number to each campaign, but only dynamic number insertion from a call tracking platform ties calls to individual website visits, keywords and pages.
