Aircall vs CallHippo: cloud phone systems compared

By the editors of Analytics1.comLast reviewed 19 October 2026

The short answer

Both are cloud phone systems for sales and support teams with IVR, recording, transcripts, analytics and CRM integrations. Aircall sells per licence with a three-licence minimum and unlimited US and Canada calling on every plan, and puts AI voice agents, conversation intelligence and 250+ integrations at the centre. CallHippo has a wider plan ladder, a free tier and separate lines for high-volume outbound, WhatsApp and shared inboxes. Neither is the better product in general: the choice turns on team size, call volume and which CRM you live in.

When Aircall fits better

  • Your team works inside a CRM or helpdesk and you want the phone to log everything there through a ready-made integration.
  • You want unlimited US and Canada calling, recordings and transcripts on the entry plan.
  • You plan to use AI voice agents or conversation intelligence for coaching.

When CallHippo fits better

  • You are one or two people and a three-licence minimum would mean paying for empty seats.
  • You want to start free and move up a long plan ladder as volume grows.
  • Outbound calling volume is the main job, or you also want WhatsApp Business in the same vendor.

What neither one does on its own

A phone system records calls but does not, by itself, tell you which ad or keyword made the call. If marketing attribution is the question, pair the phone system with a call tracking platform or use the phone system's integration with one. See call tracking explained.
