What 800.com does
800.com sells toll-free, vanity, local and Canadian numbers (or ports an existing one) and runs them as a cloud phone system: forwarding to any device, call screening, voicemail with transcription, recording, extensions, business texting and desktop and mobile apps. It lists call tracking and analytics, and its 800 Intelligence feature produces call summaries, scores and follow-up suggestions.
For measurement, the classic use is one number per offline channel: a separate toll-free number on a billboard, a radio spot and a mailer shows which one makes the phone ring. That static-number method is reliable for offline media. For website visitors, dynamic number insertion from a call tracking platform is what ties a call to the ad and keyword. See how to track phone calls from Google Ads.
A good fit for
- Businesses advertising offline (print, radio, vehicles, direct mail) that want a number per channel.
- Brands that want a memorable vanity number.
Probably not for
- Keyword-level attribution of calls from website visitors: that needs dynamic number insertion.
Alternatives
- CallRail: Dynamic number insertion and attribution for web and offline.
- WhatConverts: Calls, forms and chats as one lead list with sources.
- Calilio: Low-cost VoIP numbers in 100+ countries.
