Brand24 alternatives: 5 options compared

By the editors of Analytics1.comLast reviewed 19 October 2026

The short answer

People look past Brand24 when its entry price is more than a small brand needs, when free alerts would cover the job, or when an enterprise research team needs deeper history and analysis. Google Alerts is free for web mentions, Mention and Awario are other mid-market listening tools, and Brandwatch and Talkwalker serve enterprise teams.

Why people switch from Brand24

  • Entry price. Brand24's Individual plan was $199 per month billed annually ($249 monthly) in October 2026.
  • Low mention volume. A small local brand with a handful of mentions a month can track them with free alerts.
  • Enterprise research. Large brands may need years of history, image recognition or analyst services.

What to check before switching

  1. Which sources each tool covers. Access to some social networks' data changes over time; ask about the ones you care about.
  2. Mention limits and keyword limits per plan against your volume.
  3. Sentiment accuracy on your own mentions during a trial, especially for sarcasm and industry jargon.

The options

Listed alphabetically, not ranked. Descriptions come from each vendor’s own site as of October 2026; we have not tested these products in a live account. Prices appear only where we read them on the vendor’s pricing page.

  1. Awario

Best for: if you want mid-market listening with lead finding

Social listening and brand monitoring with sentiment, reach and a social selling feature that surfaces posts asking for recommendations.

  2. Brandwatch

Best for: if you want enterprise consumer research

Enterprise consumer intelligence and social listening with large historical data, used by research and insights teams.

  3. Google Alerts

Best for: if you want free web mention alerts

Free email alerts when Google indexes new pages matching your terms. No social coverage, sentiment or dashboards.

  4. Mention

Best for: if you want monitoring plus publishing

Media monitoring and social listening across web and social sources, with publishing and reporting features.

  5. Talkwalker

Best for: if you want enterprise listening alongside Hootsuite

Enterprise social listening and consumer intelligence, now part of Hootsuite, with image and video recognition.

Migration notes

  • Export your mention history before cancelling; most tools only collect from the date you add a project.
  • Copy your keyword and exclusion rules exactly, then compare one week's mention counts in both tools.

Questions

Is Google Alerts a real alternative to Brand24?
For a small brand that only needs to know when a web page mentions it, yes. Google Alerts does not cover social networks, has no sentiment analysis and can miss mentions, so it is a starting point rather than a listening tool.
