GetResponse vs Mailchimp for email marketing

By the editors of Analytics1.comLast reviewed 19 October 2026

The short answer

Mailchimp is the best-known name, with a free plan for 250 contacts and A/B plus multivariate testing on its Premium plan. GetResponse includes unlimited email sends on every paid plan, a landing page builder from Starter, revenue reports and unlimited automations from Marketer, and webinars and courses from Creator. Teams that want email, landing pages and webinars from one vendor look at GetResponse; teams that value Mailchimp's ecosystem of integrations and familiarity stay with Mailchimp.

When GetResponse fits better

  • You send often to a mid-size list and do not want sending caps tied to contact count.
  • You want landing pages, automation and webinars without stitching three tools together.
  • You sell online and want abandoned-cart flows and revenue reports on a mid-tier plan.

When Mailchimp fits better

  • Your list is under 250 contacts and the free plan covers you.
  • Your shop, CRM or booking tool has a well-worn Mailchimp integration you rely on.
  • You need multivariate testing of subject lines and content.

Measure the same way in both

Since Apple Mail Privacy Protection began preloading images, open rates overstate engagement for many lists. Compare platforms on clicks, conversions and revenue per email, tag every link with UTM parameters so GA4 sees the same thing either way, and read email marketing metrics for what each number means.
