What RunPod does
RunPod rents GPU compute as on-demand pods and as serverless endpoints for running models. Data science teams use it to train or fine-tune models without buying hardware, and to serve models that need a GPU.
Most business prediction work (churn, scoring, forecasting on tables of data) does not need a GPU. GPU rental matters for deep learning, large text and image models, and fine-tuning language models.
A good fit for
- Data scientists and ML engineers training deep learning models occasionally.
- Teams serving their own open models.
Probably not for
- Business teams without engineers; a no-code platform fits better.
- Tabular predictions that run fine on a CPU.
Alternatives
- Pecan AI: No-code prediction, compute included.
- Google Colab: Notebook GPUs for experiments.
